ADI introduced a new mixed signal front-end IC

- dual channel DAC and ADC integrated devices, which adopt ADI's world-leading 12 bit and 10 bit high-speed data conversion technology, and are equipped with analog peripherals, which can reduce the power consumption of femtocell and picocell wireless base stations by 40%

Beijing, august27,2010/AP Asia/-- analog devices, Inc. (ADI), the world's leading supplier of high-performance signal processing solutions, The recent introduction of the new 12 bit and 10 bit mixed signal front end (mxfe) helps developers reduce the power consumption of wireless infrastructure and portable radio devices and reduce board space. Compared with competitive devices, the power consumption of 12 bit ad9963 and 10 bit ad9961 mxfe is reduced by 40%, the area of printed circuit board is reduced by 25%, and the performance is not affected. These mxfe are particularly suitable for cost sensitive wireless devices, such as femtocell and picocell base stations that require highly integrated transmission and reception functions

chris Jacobs, product line director of ADI, said: for RF design engineers who design small wireless communication devices, ADI's new mxfe can reduce power consumption and reduce the number of devices. The new front-end IC's low-power, highly integrated transmit and receive paths help customers simplify design and actively achieve cost targets, while still providing the industry-leading dynamic range of data converters

ad9963/1 main features and advantages of mixed signal front-end

12 bit ad9963 and 10 bit ad9961 are pin compatible low-power mxfe, which respectively integrate two ADC (analog-to-digital converter) channels with a sampling rate of 100 MSPs and two DAC (digital to analog converter) channels with a sampling rate of 170 MSPs. The new mxfe can achieve 10 dB better adjacent channel leakage ratio (ACLR) performance than competitive devices, reduce design and filtering requirements, and reduce power consumption

these devices also integrate digital interfaces and flexible clock options, and have five auxiliary analog channels consisting of two 12 bit DACs, two 10 bit DACs, and one 12 bit ADC. ADC can be used to measure and monitor multiple points inside and outside. The transmit path can be configured as 1X, 2x, 4x and 8x interpolation, and the receive path includes a bypassable 2x decimation low-pass filter. The ad9963 also integrates an auxiliary LDO (low voltage difference) voltage regulator, allowing the devices to use a single power supply, so that the electromechanical control card can generate the corresponding pulse frequency and pulse frequency change rate according to the instructions to reduce the number of external devices step by step

main features and advantages of ad9963 and ad9961 mxfe:

signal to noise ratio (SNR):66.5 db

adjacent channel leakage ratio (ACLR):72 dbc

power consumption: 425 MW (at the highest sampling rate)

transmission path power consumption: less than 100 MW (170 MSPs, 1.8 V)

reception path power consumption: less than 350 MW (100 MSPs, 1.8 V)

sleep and power saving are considered to be the lightest The material with the best thermal insulation performance will deteriorate the casting. The solid new material mode

supports full duplex and half duplex data interfaces

the highly integrated mxfe can be used with ADI's adf4602 3G multi band transceiver, 4-year extended range adl5501 RMS power detector, adl5320, adl5542, adl5601 and other RF amplifiers to jointly build a complete millipico cellular radio system
