Compressor installation technology

I Installation

the selection of installation site is most ignored by the staff. Often after the compressor is purchased, it is casually located and used immediately after piping. There is no prior planning at all. Little do we know that such a hasty result has led to difficulties in compressor maintenance and poor compressed air quality in the future. Therefore, choosing a good installation site is a prerequisite for the correct use of the air compression system

1. A wide and well lighted place is required to facilitate operation and maintenance

2. The relative humidity of the air should be low, with less dust, clean air and good ventilation

3. The ambient temperature must be lower than 40 ℃, because the higher the ambient temperature, the less air output of the compressor

4. If the factory environment is poor and dusty, pre filtration equipment must be installed

5. Reserve access roads, and those who meet the conditions can install crown block to facilitate maintenance

6. Reserve maintenance space, and the distance between the compressor and the wall must be at least 70 cm

7. The compressor shall be at least one meter away from the top

II Precautions for piping, foundation and cooling system

1 Precautions for air pipeline piping

(1) when piping the main pipeline, the pipeline must have an inclination of 1 ~ 2 to facilitate the discharge of condensate in the pipeline

(2) the pressure drop of the piping line shall not exceed 5% of the set pressure of the compressor, so it is best to choose a larger pipe diameter when piping

(3) the branch pipeline must be connected from the top of the main pipeline to avoid the condensate in the pipeline flowing down to the gas equipment. It is best to have a check valve in the air outlet pipeline of the compressor

(4) when several compressors are installed in series, a ball valve or automatic drain valve must be installed at the end of the main pipeline to facilitate condensate drainage

(5) do not shrink the main pipe arbitrarily. If it is necessary to shrink or enlarge the pipe, use a reducer, otherwise there will be mixed flow at the joint, resulting in large pressure loss and affecting the service life of the pipe

(6) if there are purification and buffer facilities such as air tank and dryer behind the compressor, the ideal piping should be compressor + air tank + front filter + dryer + rear filter + fine filter. In this way, the air tank can filter part of the condensed water, and at the same time, the air tank also has the function of reducing the exhaust temperature of the gas. The air with lower temperature and less water content enters the dryer again, which can reduce the load of the dryer or the overload piston with large friction or without rotating the filter

(7) if the air consumption of the system is large and the time is very short, and the instantaneous air consumption changes greatly, it is advisable to install an air storage tank as a buffer (its capacity should be greater than or equal to 20% of the maximum instantaneous air volume), which can reduce the frequency of frequent loading or unloading of the compressor unit and the action times of the control elements, which is of great benefit to maintaining the operation reliability of the compressor. Generally, an air tank with a capacity of 20% of the exhaust volume can be selected

(8) for compressed air with system pressure less than 1.5MPa, the flow rate in the delivery pipe must be less than 15m/sec to avoid excessive pressure drop

elbows and various valves shall be minimized in the part (9) that does not need subsequent treatment to reduce pressure loss

(10) the ideal piping is that the main line surrounds the whole plant, so that both sides of compressed air can be obtained at any position. If the gas consumption of a branch line suddenly increases due to the higher upper limit temperature, the pressure drop can be reduced. And appropriate valves shall be equipped on the ring trunk line for maintenance and cutting

2. Foundation

(1) the foundation should be built on a hard floor. Before installation, the foundation plane must be leveled to avoid vibration and noise caused by the compressor

(2) if the compressor is installed upstairs, anti vibration treatment must be done to prevent vibration from being transmitted downstairs or resonance, which has potential safety hazards to the compressor and the building itself

(3) the vibration produced by screw compressor is very small, so there is no need to make a fixed foundation. However, the ground on which it is placed must be flat, and the underground cannot be soft soil. The bottom of the compressor should be paved with soft cushion or shock pad to prevent vibration and noise

3. Cooling system

(1) when you choose an air-cooled compressor, you should consider its ventilation environment. Do not place the compressor near high-temperature equipment to avoid the compressor absorbing high-temperature atmosphere, which will lead to the exhaust to maximize economic and social benefits. The normal operation of the unit will be affected by the high temperature

(2) when the service conditions restrict the compressor to be installed in a small confined space, it is necessary to install extraction and exhaust equipment to facilitate air circulation. The capacity of the extraction and exhaust equipment must be greater than the exhaust volume of the compressor cooling fan, and the location of the extraction inlet should be suitable for the location of the hot exhaust outlet of the compressor
